I highly recommend Otus as an outstanding option if you are considering live-in care. When my very independent mum had a stroke late in life, I was afraid she would have to end up in a nursing home. With Otus and the wonderful carers we grew to know, she was able to live out her life in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by the familiar. Despite living far away, which meant I struggled with regular visits, I never felt out of the loop, and my mum was treated with nothing but kindness and care. Otus dealt with all the logistics far ahead of time, so I didn’t have to worry. Mum's carers were fierce advocates for her with the NHS, helping to guide me through her changing needs, and all provided outstanding care, kept my mum engaged while she was able, and ensured her needs were met all the way to the end. I have used Otus for live-in care for my elderly mum for two and a half years. Since the very first contact with Paul just before Christmas in 2023, I felt completely confident in them. Paul gave me down-to-earth and sensible advice. My Mum was frail and very elderly and initially very reluctant to have anyone live in - but she realised it was either this option, or a care home, and the latter she was desperate to avoid. Despite being so close to Christmas and an early hospital discharge, the carer was waiting for us when my Mum came out of hospital - she’d cleaned the house, prepared a delicious hot meal, and, more importantly, was welcoming, calm, patient and kind. As a family, we decided to look at the options for our elderly father with dementia to be cared for in his own home. We were fortunate to be recommended OTUS. From the initial conversation to the end of the engagement, the carers who looked after Dad were exceptional in every way and soon became a part of our family, sharing Christmas Dinner with all of us and enabling Dad to be part of this.The care that Dad received was truly excellent, and their professionalism and knowledge of the care system was invaluable. My Mum passed away at the age of 99, living in the comfort of her own home, with dignity and having been shown the greatest kindness and respect. G was absolutely incredible - I am lost for words.
