Our selection process is very thorough. Every personal carer who applies to be registered with Otus Live-in Care undergoes a rigorous interview process. Only carers with relevant past experience will be considered – all identities are confirmed, references and certificates of training verified, and most importantly all have an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, including a check against the Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA) list. Potential carers initially have a telephone interview and if successful at this stage, will then attend a face-to-face interview with our Managing Director, Paul Isaacs. Only when all references have been received, all training and qualifications verified and Enhanced DBS check confirmed will a personal carer be registered with Otus for potential introduction to a client. Carers are self employed, responsible for their own tax and NI payments and paid directly by the client. All carers registered with Otus Live-in Care have up-to-date personal liability insurance in place prior to commencing an engagement.
